Headshots

You only get one chance to make a first impression.

Having your makeup done professionally and having a proper headshot taken is priceless.  This is why:

  • It says a lot about who you are.

  • You can utilize your photo in many ways across multiple social media platforms.

  • You demonstrate that you pay attention to detail, are confident and professional.

  • Your photo on social media is visible constantly.

  • Having a bad photo is like having a spelling error on your resume.

We at Basic Beauty believe a crisp white shirt with a collar is always the best way to go no matter what level of job. Adding a navy or black blazer unfailingly ups your game. Having simple earrings and a clean hair style is always a winning look.

Here are the products we used to create this clean and classy look:

Primer: Dermalogica Hydrablur Primer.  This primer has incredible skin smoothing abilities. It is perfect for photos.

BB Cream: Garnier Skin Active Anti Aging 5 in 1 Miracle Skin Perfector (light/medium).

Concealer: Kat Von D Lock-it concealer creme(light). This concealer has relentless staying power.  Blend, blend, blend.  Make sure you specifically place setting powder under the eyes.  This will keep smudging and shadows at bay.

Eye shadow: Revlon Color Stay Not Just Nudes Palette.  Do not use any shimmer shadows for professional pictures.  Use a matte neutral base all over the lid and a soft brown in the crease.  Keep it simple and well blended.

Eye Liner: it Cosmetics No Tug Gel Waterproof Eyeliner (brown).  For interviews and professional photos, brown is a much softer look than black.

Mascara: Almay One Coat Multi Benefit Mascara(black). A new favorite for us. Hypoallergenic and made for sensitive eyes.

Blush: Laura Gellar Baked Blush-n-Brighten (pink buttercream). Laura Gellar's baked products have creamy and rich pigmentation.  Apply one extra stroke of blush when you have completed your face.  You need more blush for photos!

Lipstick: Nars Satin Lip pencil (in Rikugien). I believe this is the most universal color. We’ve are never with out this color in our kit. Perfect for a professional pout.

Eyebrow Pencil: Brow Power Waterproof perfector 5 in 1 eyebrow pencil (universal taupe).  Brows are so very important in shaping the face.  Never miss this step even if you are using just a little bit of color.  A brow gel is useful if you have thick or unruly brows.  It is very important that you get your brows waxed or groomed a couple days prior to the photo.  You do not want any extra hairs or redness from a recent waxing.  Both show in high definition photos.

Setting Powder: NYX Mineral Set it Don't Fret it Matte Finishing Powder (light/medium).  Lightly brush over the entire face concentarting on the T zone.

SMILE!
